Why take mock tests?
You wouldn’t show up on game day without putting in some practice, or walk onstage without any rehearsal. Test-taking is no different.
As well as learning the content, successful test-takers practice improving their focus, endurance, and confidence in a testing environment. That’s why, in our experience, mock tests are the single most useful technique for developing your test-taking skills.
About CATES mock tests
CATES mock tests are taken in a simulated testing center and administered by a proctor at our NYC, NJ, or London location. Students take their exams in the company of other students and under the actual timing and corresponding break schedule of the real exams.
The experience provides a unique opportunity to improve mental focus and test-taking stamina under real testing conditions, as well as to identify content areas that need extra preparation.
After the test, students are provided with a comprehensive diagnostic report that breaks down their performance on the day and includes our individual guidance on where to focus further study. The report also includes predicted scores—where we think students could score at the end of a prep program—to assist with planning and preparation.
