Chris Ajemian discusses innovation in education on NPR
On June 1, CATES CEO Chris Ajemian appeared on NPR’s Maine Calling to talk about how the pandemic has prompted a fresh look at innovation in education and to share his thoughts on the future of remote learning.
Alongside Maine Department of Education Commissioner Pender Makin and other distinguished guests from Maine’s education sphere, Chris discussed how the idea of the “classroom” is being redefined for 21st-century learners, while arguing for the importance of project-based learning and the integration of media and technology at all levels of the public education system. He also discussed how CATES and the Maine Department of Education have begun to implement these ideas through the Maine Learning Technology Initiative Virtual Student Conference.
