Prior to any tutor match, our Client Services specialist will have an in-depth conversation with you, asking questions about learning styles, personal hobbies, academic goals, and personal interests. Once we’ve selected a tutor we think would be a good match, we schedule a free consultation for you and the tutor to confirm it’s the right fit. CATES tutors are available online and in person in SoHo, the Upper East Side, Park Slope, Williamsburg, and neighborhoods throughout New York City.
Our Model

All CATES programs begin with an assessment. We may ask to review a recent school test, for students to sit a diagnostic mock test, or for students to send their resume to establish a baseline for dialogue.
2. Analysis
Whatever the assessment, our in-house experts perform a comprehensive analysis of the results and generate a report that identifies possible cognitive and affective factors at play. These questions lead our initial conversations with the student to help confirm strengths and needs.
3. Strategy
Once we confirm the circumstances, our team designs an individualized program to power student success, leveraging the student’s talents to launch from a position of strength and confidence.
4. Support
Our experts guide the initial steps in preparation for the student to, at some point, take the reins and lead the process. We remain involved every step of the way to provide guidance, context, and insight as the student grows and needs evolve.
